(Per Press Association.) A Youthful Burglar - Wanganui, June 21. A painful case came before the Resident Magistrate to-day. A boy named Connell, eleven years of ago, was charged with breaking into the house of Mrs Mullins, in Wellington, and stealing £lO. Connell is a brother to the boy who was recently committed to the' Nelson Orphanage, and caused so rquch trouble by running away. The accused was remanded for evidence. The Westport. Wellington, June 21. Capt. Williams received the following telegram from Capt. Gibb, Kekeranga : —“ Westport sunk off Flaxborne. Crew landed in boats. Now proceeding to Blenheim.” No particulars are to hand. The following are the insurances on the Westport:—Colonial, £3OOO ; £2,500 re-insured in Australian offices ; South British, £2,600 ; reinsured for £2OOO in Australian offices; Victoria, £2,600; reinsured as follows, Batavia, £760 ; Union, £500: United, £6OO. Shipping. Poet Chalmers, June 21. Arrived, Fontenoye, Capt. McEelnie, from London. Fell while IntoxicatedDunedin, June 21. Macdonald Shepherd, in the employ of Boyd Brothers, Hillend, fell from his horse while intoxicated,and was dragged some distance. When found, he was unconscious and remains so.
