SECOND EDITION NEW ZEALAND.
(Per Press Association.) Supreme CourtNew Plymouth, May 9. The charges against William Bichards for horse stealing and George Lacky for larceny were held this morning. Lacky received a sentence of two years hard labour. The jury are considering the verdict in Eichards case. William Gallagher charged with killing a native has just been convicted. Committed for Trial. Dunedin, May 9. At the City police court to-day Eliza' Whittel was committed for trial on a charge of stealing jewellery. Death under Chloroform.
The son of Captain Eussell, marine surgeon, aged nine years, while having teeth extracted at Mr Armstrong’s, chemist, died while under chloroform. Dr Burns is stated to have been in attendance.
