LEVELS ROAD BOARD
The. ordinary meeting of the Board was held this day. Present, Messrs McKerrow, Mee, Sullivan, and the Chairman. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, The following correspondence was read From Grant and Butter asking for a foot bridge. Overseer to have the work done. From Mr Goodall, asking for a portion of the Seadown road to be shingled. Tenders to be called for the work. From Mr A. Wilson, asking to have the Seadown and Temuka road formed. Overseer to report as to cost, so as to call for tenders. From Mr Wm. Chisholm asking to have cnlvert putin and cutting made near his house. Work ordered to be done, cost not to exceed £2O. The overseer was instructed to call for tenders for lowering and widening the bill leading from Miller’s to the Levels Yalloy road ; also, for_ shingling a portion of the zig-zag by Pringle’s. A letter from the Steward of Reserves declining to pay rates on Reserve 1209, was read. The Chairman was authorised to instruct the solicitor to take proceedings to recover the same. The Overseer’s report was then read, and the following works were ordered to be carried out :—Wai-iti Roftd, metalling. Tenders to be called for. Otipua Road, metalling. Tenders to be called for; Point Road, from Levels to Anderson’s. Tenders be called for. The Overseer was also instructed to repair the road from the Point to Mr Acton’s.
The Caledonian Lodge, S. C, meet to-night at 7,30. St. John’s Lodge of Freemasons meet to-night at 7.30. Pressure of advertisements renders it necessary to hold over the balance of to-day’s Magisterial business. 1
