ARCHIBALD FORBES.
The matchless Sraythe sends a biographical sketch of tho groat war correspondent, as a forerunner of tho
great man himself. Mr Forbes has had a good deal of experience, comprising a taste of sailoring, a term of soldiering, and a long editorial and contributorial career. His ability and experience led to his appointment as war correspondent to the ‘‘ Morning Advertiser.” He had his choice of sides, but like a wise Scotchman, he chose the side he felt sure wotlld win. Ho next attached himself to the “Daily News.” He went successively to India, Russia, and Zululand, and afterwards made a successful lecturing tour in the States. Mr Forbes’ abilities are of a very high order, humility, however, is not a very conspicuous trait of his character.
