WAIMATE.

The R. M. Court, Waimate, had plenty of business to do yesterday, His Worship the R.M., and W. J. Stewart Esq., being on the Bench, A number of cases of offences against bye-laws, &c., were disposed of. The list of civil cases was as follows:—“Waimate Times ”Co. v. Adams, claim £8 13s ; same v. Sellar, claim £1 12s lid, judgment by default in both cases- Union Bank of Australia v. Williams, claim £l2 13s 2d. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs.

The Borough Council have appointed Mr R. Gr. Baxter to the Town Clerkship rendered vacant by the resignation of Mt Parker, who has been appointed Clerk to the Education Board.
