WESLEYAN ENTERTAINMENT.

A very pleasant entertainment took place at tlio Schoolroom, Bank street, last evening. Mr Ilohlgate, superintendent of the Sabbath School presided, and in his opening remarks, referred to the entertainment having been got op entirely by the Sunday School teachers and children and they had not to get any outside assistance at all.

The programme was then proceeded with, and a number of exceedingly well rendered recitations, songs, and glees followed. The glees comprised such popular favorites as “All Among the Barley,” “ Sea Bird,” “ Calm be Thy Slumbers,” and “ Men of Harlech.” Mr W. Gilchrist ably officiated ns conductor, and these items were amongst the most successful of tho evening. The ladies who took part in the entertainmen were Miss Foster, Mis Mnsker, Miss R. Clarke, and Mis Warrington, and the following gentle man assisted —Messrs W. Gilchrist Ellis, G. Warrington, and little Maste Iloldgate. The Pianoforte accompani ments were played by Miss Bezant, Mis e Warrington, and the Misses Clarke (2) 1 The singing, by the juvenile choir, o the New Zealand National Anthem brought a veiy pleasant evening to a close.
