[Reuter’s Agenct.l Melbourne, July 5. It is now definitely known that the Governor has refused the advice of the Ministry that Parliament should be dissolved in the present crisis. A grand concert was given in tho Exhibition Building last evening by the German Liedertaefel Society. The Royal Princes and the Governor were present and the attendance of the public is estimated at 6000. The affair was a most brilliant success. Sydney, July 6. Parliament was opened to-day by His Excellency Lord Augustus Loftus. In his Address the Governor announced that during the session the following measures would be brought in : —A Bill for the Regulation of Chinese Immigration, a Legislative Bill, a Licensing Bill, and a Municipal Bill, together with others for the amendment of various Acts now in force in the Colony.
