The fore-and-aft schooner Aspasia arrived last night from Foxton after a seven day’s passage. Weather permitting, the barque Comadre will probably sail to-morrow evening, with a cargo of grain for London. The schooner Marmion, which brought a large quantity of timber for Mr T, T, Brownell, from Kaipara, a few days ago, returned there yesterday. The Marmion is to make two more trips with timber f»oxn Kaipara,consigned to Mr Brownell. We understand that the Union Cbmpa- y’s steamship Waitaki will permanently succeed the s. s. Taiaroa in running between Timaru and Dunedin. The Waitaki to-day filled up with grain to complete tfie ballasting of tho ship Westland, expected from Dunedin on Tuesday, to load here for Home.
