Mails close at the Chiei Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday* April 23. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Hawea, at 2.a0 p.m. For Australian Colonies, per Arawata, at 12.40 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, the Continent of Europe, America, Africa, and the Sandwich Islands, as fol--lows : Money orders, registered letters and newspapers, at 2.30 p m. Ordinary letters at 2.30 p.m. Late fee letters will be received at the Chief Post Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Bailway Travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express Train) till 3.20 p.m’ Wednesday, April 27. For Australian Colonies per Tararua, at 4 p.m. (Signed) W. W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster. Chief Post Office, Timaru, April 22, 1881.
