[Eeuter’s Agency,] An Inglorious Sml. Meliiourne, Nov. 11. The execution of Ned Kelly took place this morning, at Pcntridgc gaol. The proceedings wore carried out in private the gaol officials alone being present. There was a large crowd outside the building, but the event passed off quietly. Mrs Jones, of the Clenrownn Hotel, who was brought up at the Police Court charged with harboring the Kelly gang, has been remanded. Rainbow Revels. Seventy ladies and gentlemen (New Zealand colonists) held a banquet. Judge Gillies occupied the chair, Messrs llcid and Peacock being ATcc-Chairmen. Numerous toasts were proposed, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. An After-thought. The Legislative Council has appointed a committee to report upon the Totalisator Bill. Foragers at Home. The Australian cricketers arc passengers by the steamship Khedive, which arrived at King George’s Sound yesterday, from Gallo, with the Suez mail. Wreck of a Collier Svdxev, Nov. 10. The Lady Darling, steam collier, has been wrecked while going from Newcastle to Melbourne. It is feared the captain and crew have been drowned. The Bermagui Mystery Fifty pounds reward is offered for the elucidation of (he Bermagui mystery there being strong proof that the party have been murdered. A free pardon will be granted to the accomplice becoming Queen’s evidence.
