It is rumored here that owing to the withdrawal of the Government proclamation over the Pateterc lands in the “ Gazette ” to-day, the Waste Lands Board purpose to recommend Parliament to impose an export duty on kauri gum, and to issue licenses to dig similar to minor’s rights. Hot Ashes. A lire broke out in William’s bakery. Grey street, last night through hot ashes being left in an exposed place. The damage was slight, as the lire was quickly extinguished. Sudden Death. Duxedix, Nov. 12. William Drysdalc, a dry salter dropped down dead in G-oorgo street yesterday, from heart disease. Rival Councillors. Fish and Boss, City Councillors, have been nominated for the Cily Mayoralty.
