Rita), First Water, Rivalry, Rothschild, and Totalisator. The total final acceptances number 37. It is considered that the entries for the forthcoming races are very much below expectations. [Some mistake has evidently occurred in the telegrams re the betting in Melbourne on Mata. Mata was backed about a Aveek ago at 100 to 15, but the latest cablegram gives the figures as 100 to 5. We may state that in Timaru Mata is being backed at 7to 1. The blunder in the Melbourne telegram has created a good deal of surprise as well as amusement.] DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.
