In the Legislative Assembly Mr Fitzpatrick’s motion of censure on the Government, for refusing to legislate on the question of mining on private property was negatived by a large majority. At a Cabinet Council held yesterday it was resolved to introduce an amended Land Bill during the next session of Parliament with a view to relieve selectors from the hardships they arc suffering under the present law.
