[Reuter's Agency.] Adventure of a mail Steamer. Melbourne, April 19. —Arrived —P. and O. Steamship Hydaspes, from Galle, having lost the fans of her propeller. Her mails wore brought on by the steamship Assam, which left Galle on March 23. A Popular Tax. Sydney, April 19. —An open air meeting on Saturday night, numbering 1800 persons, passed resolutions endorsing the action of the Legislative Council in amending the Stamp Duties BiU. Joined the majority. Champagoni, the well-known confecfectioner, and one of the largest caterers for the supply of refreshments at the Exhibition, has become insolvent.
