THEATRE ROYAL.

Mr and Mrs Charles .Florence gave the first of; their two entertainments last night at the above place of amusement. There was not such a large house as we should like to have seen, or, indeed, as the entertainment deserved. Mr Florence’s “Medley,” in which he was ably supported by Mrs Florence, was capitally rendered. To sa}'- that the singing was good would be almost superfluous, while there was just sufficient fun thrown in to make this little melodramatic trifle popular with tire downstairs as well as with the “ circle ” audience. A few well-chosen vocal selections followed, which were also highly appreciated, both artistes being recalled more than once. The “ Still I love Thee ” of Mr Florence, and “ Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep,” by Mrs Florence, together with the duet “ Flow gently Dova,” wore especially deserving of notice. Mr

Statham presided at the piano with his accustomed ability. The entertainment concluded with the favorite comedietta, “The Happy Pair, ’ in which Mr and Mrs Vincent appeared as Ferdinand and Constance Honeytou, and delighted the audience by their natural and praiseworthy acting. Hot only were those clever amateurs merely letter perfect, but they displayed the most intimate knowledge of the business of the piece, and x’eccived at its conelusion the most unraistakeable evidence of the audience’s approval. We hope to have the pleasure of seeing Mr and Mrs Vincent appear in some other piece on a future occasion. Mr and Mr* Florence will appear again this evening, when a fresh programme will be presented.
