MAGISTERIAL.
WAIMATE—YESTERDAY. [Before 11. Beetham, Esq., li.M., and the Mayor.] TRESPASS. C. V. Clark was fined 5s and costs, for allowing horses to stray on a public road. UNLAWFUL SEIZURE. Robert Hoadley and M. Thync were charged with seizing cattle about lo be impounded. Mr Hawkins for plaintiff, and Mr Jameson for defendant. Daniel Elision, swore to having taken five head of cattle out of Dr Hoadley’s garden. He was driving them to the pound when defendeut came up with Iris dog and seized them, haring lirst offered to pay damages. The case was dismissed. BREACH OF THE DEBTORS AND CREDITORS ACT. Duncan Cruickshanks, was charged with a breach of the Debtors and Creditors Act. Mr Jameson for the prosecutor. S. H. Graham, Clerk of the District Court, produced the papers connected with defendant’s insolvency. Frank Sice, trustee in the estate, gave evidence to the effect that two houses on (ho estate had not been properly accounted for. Other evidence being given, accused was committed to lake his trial at the District Court, Timaru, bail allowed, himself in £2OO, and two sureties of £IOO each.
