Late Telegrams.
(“times” special wire.) Wellington, Hov. 6. “The sea and wind in the Strait are unfavorable to the completion of the cable repairing operations. The Agnes is still in Worsers’ Bay, awaiting a favorable time. She has IS miles of cable on board, the condition of which is as good as new. The conditions requiring her to make a successful job are, that she should start from the White’s Bay end, paying out against the flood tide, over the new route which has been surveyed, to avoid the bad ground where the previous cable was destroyed, through the chemical action. It is probable she may have to remain where she is a day or two yet. After 10 o’clock last night the Parliamentary business was not of general interest. Mr George Thomas reports:—Adelaide flour, £l6 ; colonial, £l3 10s to £l4; oats, 2s 7d to 2s 9d ; bran, £4; wheat (fowls), 4s 9d ; maize, 4s 6d ; pollard, £6 ; potatoes per ton, £9 10s to £10; bacon, lOd; hams, 101-d; cheese, B|d to 8Id; butter, 7d —no sale; oatmeal, £ls to £l6.
