Rural numbers too soon
Letters from the Registrar of Electors requesting rural property owners' 'rapid rural number', or emergency number, are premature and should be disregarded, the Ruapehu District Council advises. The registrar had been informed that a rapid rural numbering project is still in the development stage and that
a draft was taken (by the registrar) as the finished document, states the council. "This has caused confusion," states acting chief executive Chris Ryan. "The Ruapehu District ' Council asks that (rural property owners) disregard this letter and apologises for any inconvenience that you may have been caused," said Mr Ryan.
