Raetihi lamb sale prices sound
Lamb sale prices remained sound last week at Raetihi' s sale, with small-framed mixed sex young lambs in yards of 38 to 47, realising from $28 to $36.50. Other yards of m / s lambs gained $36 to $38.60. Two yards, of 74 and 105, fetched $39 and $42 respectively. Ewe lambs also did well realising $32 and up to $39. There was a big yard from Omarei Station which fetched $37.50. Ram lambs topped the saies with prices that ranged from $35.20 to $43.20. Tawanui Station had a big yard of 437 c/o lambs that sold for $40.50 while 96 black faced lambs went for $42, a handful of wethers gained $39 and some small tail-enders managed $16.50. Buyers came from Waipukurau, Manawatu, Wanganui, Te Kuiti and locally. Auctioneers and farmers were pleased with the sale, comparing well with Feilding and others in the central district. There was a total yarding of 7000.
