Waimarino Pony Club
The Waimarino Pony Club held its annual one day event (ODE) on the property of lan and Ann Roke on 9 March 1997. With the NZPC champs approaching on 17-19 April in Auckland at Ambury Park, several Waimarino riders trialing for the King Country team, being Nicola Smith, Raetihi; Hone Brausch, Ohakune; Kelly Godfrey, Raetihi and Adrian Fetzer, Ohakune took advantage of competing on the up-to-date and challenging course. Sally Williams, Raetihi, also trialing for the King Country was unable to compete on her horse Integrity, but should be back in action for the area trials on 16 April at Kaitieke. Results: Class 1, Introductory: Dressage; 1st Amanda Garland, Impresario; Overall, 1st Amanda Garland, Impressario; 2nd Vicky Hill, Digby. Class 2, Pre-training: Dressage; 1st Marni McGregor, Able Penny. Overall; 1st Sally Williams, Charlie; 2nd Equal Michelle Fredricksen, Linden Witchcraft and Briar McGregor, Ridgewood Kangaroo. Adults: 1st Dressage & Overall; Sheryl Bell, Tamo Two.Class 3, Training: Dressage; 1st Shelly Gotlieb, Zambuka. Overall; IstKaren Homersham, El-Sueno. Adult: 1st Dressage; Terry Kinloch, Agent Orange, 1 st Overall; Evelyn Cooper, Jade. Class 4, DC/A1 : Dressage; 1st Hone Brausch, Howards Way. Overall; 1st Nicola Smith, Pal-o-mine, 2nd Hone Brausch, Howards Way.
