Junior darts
On 4 March Waimarino juniors began their practises with the New Zealand Junior National Championships weighing heavily on their minds. For a dart player this event is the ultimate challenge. The club has four juniors going to Invercargill to compete in this competition. Last year these were the only juniors the club had but since starting up darts again,numbers have increased to eight, showing exceptional talent for darts. The top junior, BJ, is playing in the adult section at the moment and holding his own and after last Tuesday's play the second top player Megan Windle moves up to the adult section with Danny Foster, Amoa Crossan and Rameka Cawsey close behind. The club has three small juniors Code Takitimu, Sylvester Christenson and Rangihopuata Rapana and a new player hds joined, Mana Phillips and at present this is the junior team. They practise Tuesdays from 5.30 to 7.00pm sharp then on a
W ednesday night the older juniors have a shot at reaching the adult section. The club is fundraising for championships trip. They play 13 to 16 July with a North Island versus South Island game included.
