Ohakune Scouts Quiz Night

The third Ruapehu Scouts quiz night for 1996 is on this Friday 8 November (see advertisement for details). This fun fundraising event is becoming a "must go to" for a number of local teams whose inter-team rivalry has nothing to do with the

overall winners. The quiz consists of 10 rounds of questions including general knowledge, sport, music and geography. The last quiz night was dominated by two Waiouru Museum teams who not only came first and third but won the major raffle as well. Funds raised on the night are to be used to help send a troop of 15 scouts and their leaders to a summer camp jamboree in California in 1997. Otherevents planned include re-roofing woolsheds, cleaning under woolsheds, painting buildings as well as running raffles. Anyone who requires the use of a scout (or their parents) for these odd jobs should contact the scout leader Grant Hays on 3858297.
