On Wednesday 30 October the Ohakune bridge club was visited by Ann Kelly and Ray McLaren of Taihape, who had been out for the day. and decided to stop off for a few hands of bridge on the way home. It proved a worthwhile decision as they ended up winning the East West competition with 62.50% (67.50), the best of the Ohakune opposition being Margret Cornwall and Jim Cranston who scored a creditable 56.89% (51.67). A pair not seen at bridge for some time are Tracy Ennis and Bill Te Karu and they turned up on Wednesday and took out the North South competition with a score of 59.39% (65.00), and in second place were Pauline Le Noel and Bob Tumataroa who finished up on 52.64% (60.83). The Ohakune Bridge Club extends its sincerest condolences to thfe Eades and Zweibruck families on their recent bereavement.
