Ski firms take up rates postponement offer
A number of ski firms have applied to have their rates postponed, due to the effects of the eruption on the ski season. Council chief executive officer Cliff Houston told councillors at their September meeting that each application would be dealt with on its individual merits and that applicants would be required to supply information "of a confidential nature with substantial disclosure".
He asked that hebe delegated the authority to consider the applications. Cr John Compton asked if there was any provision for considering other applications, for example, from farmers. Mr Houston said there was, and that such applications would also require "substantial disclosure". "We haven' t received any enquiries from any non-commercial operators."
