Ohakune wants skaters' park

Ohakune needs a skateboarders' and in-line skaters' park according to a group of residents who have made submission to the council for one to be established, using reserves contribution funds.

The submissions are from two local retailers Ann Vincent and Lori Dann, and from Sport Ruapehu co-ordinator Kath Campbell and councillor Ellen Gould, with a large list of supporting signatures gathered by Ruapehu College

pupil Joel Spry. Suggested sites are Christie and Jubilee Park. Submitters state that while the activities are growing in popularity, the only places available are the footpaths, roads and the Christie Park netball courts.
