Waiouru 10's rugby

Nearly 200 players tumed out on the weekend of 16-17 March for the Carlton Breweries, Waiouru Rugby Netball Club, ten-a-side rugby tournament. Twelve teams from as far afield as Wellington and Wanganui braved the challenging weather conditions to take advantage of a pre-season work-out. There was plenty of competitive spirit in evidence despite the social nature of the tournament. Huia and Barbarians reached the final of the plate competition with Corps of T ransport and Ordinance Corps teams playing out the Cup final.

Commander of Army Training Group, Colonel Ray Seymour was on hand to present the trophies to Huia and T ransport for welldeserved wins in their respective divisions.
