Larrv Morris live
Larry Morris, a rebel since 1964, visits Ohakune this weekend to play Hot Lava. His show business career began in the winter of 1964 when Larry joined up with four other Auckland teenagers to form Larry' s Rebels, his first professional band. His music history includes residency with the rebels at Auckland' s famed Top Twenty nightclub; an album 'A Study In Black'. He worked solo in Australia, London, Canada, Los Angeles, the US east coast, and Nashville. Larry decided to move home to New Zealand with his family in 1992. Arriving home shortly after the death of close friend Tommy Adderley, Larry decided to get a band together to play at his mates' farewell benefit. Bruce Kerr, Robbie Paterson and Richard Anaru came together and the Larry Morris Band was bom, April 1993. Such was the success of the band's debut they decided to stay together and to complete the recording of an album that had been started in Nashville. Richard has since returned from Nashville with the finished record and Here & There, the debut album from this exciting New Zealand band was released in March. LMB are playing their album on the tour as well as lots of classic songs — covers, but not the kind most band are doing now — great songs from Steelie Dan, Joe Cocker, & other 70' s sounds.
