Kiwi Host gathers momentum

Two moje businesses in the Southern Ruapehu have become Kiwi Host trained. The White House and Ohakune Photo Pharmacy can now display Kiwi Host business logos and the Kiwi Host flag. This brings to 10 the Kiwi Host businesses in Ohakune and Raetihi. The host organisation for Kiwi Host, Ruapehu South Business Association, have a goal to see the Southern Ruapehu district become a Kiwi Host district. This would require 60 per cent of all service industry businesses to become Kiwi Host trained says David Squires leader of

Kiwi Host for the RSBA. This may seem to be a tall order says David, yet six months ago the Southern Ruapehu only had one Kiwi Host business. Over the past four years many of those working in the tourist industry have completed a Kiwi Host programme through the RSB A however, not many businesses saw the need to 'fly the flag'. As a business must have 60 per cent of their staff trained before they can register it takes an active interest by management to meet this standard. Kiwi Host businesses are: Alpine Property Manage-

ment, Snowbird Lodge, Mary Allen Honey, The Court House Bed and Breakfast in Raetihi , Ruapehu Homestead, Annah. S, Turoa Ski Resort, Rimu Park Lodge
