Swim out

The Council' s SwimmingPools in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi closed for the season from Monday 20 March. Over the previous two weeks patronage at the facilities had dropped significantly and it was not viable to keep them open any longer, reported the council. For example, the pool temperature has fallen from 22°C to 19°C in Taumarunui last week and with the cooler air temperature and wind factor this had caused even the hardiest of the regular patrons to stop using the facility.
