Waimarino golf
There has been some excellent golf played during the past two weeks of competition. Last week saw an excellent round of golf by Steve Grey in the juniors. Steve scored 48 points which cost him four shots on his handicap. In the seniors Gary Imhoff had a 77 gross to see him take the senior meat pack. This week saw the continuation of good scoring. In the seniors Neil Leitz won the meat pack with 44 points. Second was John Hansen with 42 points and third Michael Lloyd with 4,1 points. In the juniors the ladies were to the fore. Winner of the meat pack was Eileen Goldfinch with 43 points, second Richard Taoa with 42 points and third equal were Goldie Frazer and Terry Geraghty with40points. Two's were scored by Hugh Geraghty, Murray Steel and Brian Dowsett. Lucky number draw was John Hammond who for the second time was not present to collect his cheque. Lucky number draw is now up to $2 1 0.
Up-coming events are: Final day for matches Saturday 5 November; Sunday the Beedees and Alpine restaurant mixed foursomes beginning at 8.30am, 36 holes, all members please support this competition; Closing day the following Sunday with prizegiving in the evening; Trevor Frederick junior, Michael Lloyd and Graham Lind will play for the champion of champions competition on Saturday at Rangitira golf course.
