Bridge

Attendance at bridge on Wednesday 28 September was up on the previous two weeks with the return of several members from their 'Weight Watchers World Tours' sojourn and also by having a visitor from the Taupo Bridge Club. Mark Hays and Bob Tumataroa won the northsouth competition with 55.48% being promoted up from second place. Also promoted up into second place, were Glenda Whale and Elaine Goldfinch with 53.60%. Hard-luck to Ron Frew and Brian Eades who were demoted from first to third. Hark-luck also to Ron

Martin and Heather Cranston who were demoted from first to third in the east- west direction. The east- west direction was won by Sarah Hamlin and Margaret Cornwall who scored 59.61% and in second place were Jim Cranston and Evelyn from Taupo with a score of 52.43%. The previous weeks competitions were won by Rita Kaiwhare and Betty Hammond in the northsouth direction and by Pauline Le Noel and Tephany Bennett in the eastwest direction with scores of 51.93% and 57.57% respectively.
