Waiouru rugby league

Waiouru played a very strong Tainui Club on Saturday. The score of 38-24 to Tainui for the reserves, and a 48-16 to Tainui for the Premieres was disapointing for Waiouru. Both Waiouru teams played exceptional games, but the experience of T ainui gave them a good run. For the reserves, 2 tries were scores by Mike Wallace and a try each by Ray Horton, Luke Gekins and Lee-Joy McLean. LeeJoy also kicked for the team. Player of the day for the Premieres was Raff Pereira, who played very well in defence with a very high tackle count. He also contributed a try. Duane Fyfe opened Waiouru' s score with a try and a try was scored by Wayne Tawhai.

Congratulations were expressed to club secretary Stacie and her new husband Jack, and Carolyn Coombes, was thanked for volunteering as team medic.
