by

Steph

Rapana,

secretary. Thursday 7 April saw a good turnout for the opening darts club night at the Ruapehu Hotel. This is the beginning of a challenge to the Social Club nights. The League Club postponed their challenge due to 9 April being their first league match. The Social Club wish them well for their game against Kia Ora (Palmerston North). Many thanks go to Trevor, the hotel proprietor, for his and Lion Red's sponsorship. There were 1 2 Club players who were all winners. Losers of the first team, Steph, Rauna, Bowie and Austin won one-and-a-half dozen. Losers of the second team, Adam, Pewe, Darren and Pun, won one dozen. Highest score was a one-dart throw between Porky H, Pewe and Boma who all had 121 but Boma won the one-dart throw. Main prizes were: 4th Porky Hiroti, cap and half-a-dozen; 3rd Jim C, sportsbag and half-a-dozen; 2nd Steve Wallace, sports-bag and half-a-dozen; lst Boma, $50. To all social club members, a $180 jackpot began last week going up $10 every week until it is struck (one winner only per club night). This Thursday the RSA Social Club will be over to challenge the Ruapehu Hotel Club. The Ultimate Challenge starts again on 3 May.
