Ohakune badminton
The (Ohakune Badminton club and Ruapehu College should be proud to have so many of their members representing W anganui Rep teams in badminton. Donna Cranston, Eileen Voon, Tania Shields, Sarah
Lind and Jenny Murdie are all in the Wanganui under 14 rep teams. Cathy Cranston and Katrina Marsh are still undergoing trials for the under 16's. The girls have been travelling to Wanganui every weekend for practice and trials and now that Ohakune and Turangi have the bulk of players the coach is holding training sessions in the Ohakune Gym every fortnight. Their first competition game is in April at Palmerston North for the start of Central Districts competition. Last year they finished a creditable third. Also during the May holi- . days they have another week in Palmerston North playing the National Team and individual events. Members will be selling cakes and vegetables around town to help pay for expenses. Club night is every Monday 7.30-9. 30pm with the first night free for all new players. Primary School badminton will start after the May holidays.
