Visitor centre approved again

The Ruapehu Visitors Centre has once again been approved for Visitor Information Network (VIN) membership. Centre manager Rose Pepere said that every 12 months the New Zealand Tourism Board carry out an annual inspection of each registered VIN office. 'The New Zealand Tourism Board have fairly stringent regulationsin place and we have to adhere to these," she said. "Any VIN office that is not up to standard automatically has its membership revoked. "VIN offices throughout New Zealand are standardised by having such rules

and regulations in place and tourists are provided with the same high quality of service and information wherever they go," said Rose. Along with the continued membership, Rose

Pepere and Pat Goldfinch have both successfully completed the VIN Training Programme. This is also a requirement of the Tourism Board and has to be undertaken by all staff working in a VIN office.
