Co-offenders charged with robbery

William Allen, 24, garden worker of Ohakune and Dwayne Joseph Henare, 23, unemployed of Auckland, were charged with robbery (a charge of aggravated robbery was withdrawn by consent) on 30 July. Court heard how Allen and Henare had left the Crazy Horse nightclub to walk to the Powder Keg at about 3 am when they confronted a person from whom they took a black leather jacket valued at $400. Both defendants were convicted and remanded on bail to appear in the Wanganui High Court on 16 November. Conditions of bail include a 7pm-7am curfew and a requirement to reside at specified addresses. Reparation of $200 from each defendant was sought.
