Jacksons Road, an old stock route, has been fixed following public suggestions put to the Ruapehu District Council through its 'fix-a-gram'. The Council put in an advertisement called a 'fix-a-gram' some months ago in the Ruapehu Bulletin asking people to write to the Council if they had seen a problem in the district. Jacksons Road had been neglected for a numberof years and the Council thought that it was no longer in use but they have since found out that it is still used as a stock route to and from the saleyards. Two people wrote to the Council explaining the situation with Jacksons Road. The road was rough and had puddles of water on it. The letter was forwarded to area engineer south, Don Sattler, so that he could look into the matter and see if the problem could be fixed without using too much of Council' s money. Mr Sattler then forwarded the information he gathered to the Chief Executive in Taumarunui who authorised the go-ahead to repair the road. Turn ^ Page 2

From Page 3 Culverts have been dug to drain the water and the road itself has been levelled out. The Council received about six different replies to the advertised' fix-a-grams' and all six have been taken care of, according to a council spokesperson.
