Game building move stopped

Plans to relocate the former Waimarino Acclimatisation Society rooms from Duncan Street to Seddon Street have been put on hold, pending further discussions with the Taranaki Fish & Game Council, the Waimarino Museum Society, the Ruapehu Fish & Game Club and the Waimarino Community Board. The board heard at their last meeting that there was some conflict of opinion between the groups regarding the plans. Board member John Compton said the museum society did not want the responsibility of the building at this time, and that the game council was not happy with the proposed site (behind the museum). He moved that the council's property officer hold negotiations with all parties present at the same meeting.
