Congratulations
• I have recently returned to the United Kingdom after spending a month in New Zealand and being something of a train buff I was interested
to see how well the Ohakune railway station building had been restored since my last visit two years ago. Compared with all the other old station buildings along the North Island Main Trunk line - Papakura, Huntly, Waiouru, Otaki and Levin (which all appear to be abandoned and derelict) the Ohakune railway station stood out as a shining example of what can be done to restore the appear ance of an historic building and thus create an atmosphere that must surely attract visi- ( tors and overseas railway enthusiasts such as myself. Well done Ohakune.
