Rangataua questions
• I, on behalf of many rate-payers in Rangataua, want the Ruapehu District Council to explain publicly the totally ridiculous sewage rating in Rangataua township. A rate of $184 per section for the 1993/94 year has been quoted which works out to approximately $29,000, nearly $16,000 more than last year when the rate was $84. Makes you wonder what is going on does it not? A general feeling in the
community is that this extra money is to be used elsewhere because the RDC in the Bulletin of 3 August stated the Rangataua sewerage and reticulation budget for 1993/94 is 11 per cent less than 1992/93 due to a decrease in blockages and pump wear in the reticulation system so just what is going on? By the way it is nice to see councillors, community board members etc going around the wards to
see what problems there are, well it would be, if they did, which they don't, too busy with tourism, don't forget we live here all the time.
