Raetihi Rd - Clyde St still dangerous
• Having had a narrow escape from a dangerous driver at the Clyde Street, Raetihi Road intersection I'd like to know why the promised islands have not been installed.
I was driving south on Clyde Street when a car shot past and only braked to a stop at the Backpackers Motel. I didn't have time to take evasive action - somehow we missed each other - but certainly not due to that driver's actions. The District Council were supposed to have the islands as a priority. Will it take another death to jolt them into action.
With four young children I do not want to risk their lives or mine while driving round Ohakune. The islands are very necessary, so why doesn't the Council get them done. Let's have these islands built - Now!
