District court
Richard Kane Home, 26, casual worker of Ohakune, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with excess breath rated alcohol (500/1) on Ruapehu Road, Waiouru, on 30 July. On a driving while disqualified charge Judge Watson said he was concerned that defendant had driven within two weeks of the disqualification being imposed in the
Taihape District Court. Horne was convicted and sentenced to 200 hours community service on each charge to be served concurrently. Part of this sentence is to allow remission of fines totalling $1,100. Horne was also disqualified for 10 months following the expiry of his current disqualification on 23 February 1993.
