Waimarino Bridge club

The Bridge evening on Wednesday 1 1 March began with all members present observing one minutes silence in respect to the memory of Eva 'Cooky' Hansen who passed away recently. The evenings competition was, the first

night of, a three-night mixed pairs competition. The successful pairs for the night were, in the North-South direction, Mark Hays and Fr Bernie Vella with 59.38% and second were Tracy Ennis and Jenny Mottram with 54.69%.

In the East-West direction Ron Frew and Goldie Fraser took first place with 58.75% and Les Burns and Bob Tumataroa were second with 54.38%. Therefore at the end of round one the top four players are Fr Bernie Vella, Mark Hays, Ron Frew and Goldie Fraser.
