Random checks of cars for warrants of fitness and registration are to be carried out in the Waimarino next month.

Car checks From page 1 Wanganui region and the team will be visiting Raetihi and Ohakune to carry out checks here. The purpose of the checks is to increase the number of vehicles warranted and registered, and not necessarily to prosecute people, said a Wanganui MoT spokesman. He said people stopped whose cars did not have a current Warrant of Fitness and1 vehicle licence sticker would be given 14 days to correct the situation and show proof that it had been done, and then no further action would be taken.
