From Waimarino Community Board Chairman Colin Webb

On behalf of the Military Community in Waiouru we wish all those associated with us throughout 1991, a very happy Christmas and New Year. Another year has passed with some benefits of local government amalgamation becoming more apparent. Our community board has settled down and we are confident that the intended role of the community board has developed and we are providing some real input into recommendations made to the Ruapehu District Council. We are concerned that we are perhaps not getting all the messages from you, the general public, so that we can discuss and take the appropriate action. We are making a submission to the local government commission for the retention of a Waimarino Community board as we feel it is a definite requirement and essential for the well-being of the Waimarino area. On behalf of the members I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
