Bike race gearing up

Organisers of next week's around the mountains cycle race are sure they are onto a winner with their event. This first ever race around the 160 kilometre circuit has so far attracted 100 entries and they hope to see that number increase, especially in local entries. "It's already become an international event!" said organiser Warwick Funnell. "We've got one rider coming from Mexico and one from Scotland." He said the youngest entrant was 13 and the oldest 65. While the guns are expected to finish in about 4 hours 15-30 minutes there is also scope for the fun rider, said Mr Funnell. He said the event was open to mountain bikes and was hoped to be a fun event as well as a serious ride.
