No rubbish problem

Problems with the new rubbish collection service in Raetihi and Ohakune which were expected have not eventuated. The community board had earlier expressed concern that with the council enforcing the rule of only picking up rubbish in paper rubbish sacks, would lead to plastic bags and cartons building up around the towns. But area engineer Don Sattler said there seemed to be no problem with paper sacks used in virtually all cases.
