Climber safe
Search and Rescue volunteers were called out on Sunday morning after a climber was reported overdue on Saturday night. The experienced climber, a 43 year-old Wellington male, had been caught on the mountain in failing light after his party had split up. The man had dug himself a snowcave and came off the mountain early Sunday morning unharmed.
