Girl guide group gets together again
Guides has started up again in Raetihi. They are meeting at 6pm on Thursdays at the Scout Hall in Queen Street. The nine girls who went to the first night on 7 March were given an introductory talk by
Margaret Martin, District Commissioner. Mrs Martin introduced Leader Stephanie Rogers and explained the uniform, different badges and procedures. The girls are working to become enrolled
members of the 11th Manawatu Company, this should take about a month. Guides is open to girls nine and a quarter to 14 1/4 years old and the company can have up to 24 guides. The emphasis at guides is on outdoor
activities such as camping. Anyone interested in helping with guides as a uniformed leader or any girls wishing to join can contact Margaret Martin 54-326 after 6pm or Stephanie Rogers after work.
