Ohakune station
From page 5 office and railway museum, so that those waiting to catch trains or alighting from thcm can do so in pleasant and welcoming surroundings. At the present time it is not possible even to find a seat on which to sit nor a scrap of information about the town and its antenities. The immediate aim of the PORS group is to tidy up the station and the environs so that Good Friday's group of camera-clicking railway enthusiasts will not
carry away photographic images of an abandoned and derelict station. More details of how this will be achieved together with details of the welcoming programme and history of KA459 steam locomotive will appear in the Bulletin over the next two weeks following tomorrow night's PORS meeting. Anyone wishing to hear of these plans or is willing to help in some way is invited to come along to Ruapehu College at 7.30 pm.
